My Blog Ate my Homework

Hello! I am Fi, this is my blog. It ate my homework once upon a time, when I was living in London and doing an English degree. I don’t have any homework anymore, since moving to Brighton and getting a nice job, but I still like the name. So, there you go.

This blog was at http://superfi.typepad.com/ for three years, and now it’s here, in case you were wondering.

Anyway: I am in my early twenties, and I marked the end of my education by getting married to my internet boyfriend, Bill. Then we moved to Brighton where I got a job as a (trainee) journalist, partly because of my blog. It transpired that being a blogger doesn’t necessarily translate to being a journalist – so I left that and am now working for a group of international parenting websites as a production editor. I love it, although I do find myself bemused by Arabic text at least once a week.

I make a much better production editor than I did a journalist! And a much better employee than I would have done an MA student!

We had a sort-of-cat when we lived in London. She wasn’t ours but we loved her and fought with our neighbour for her loyalty. But we left them to it when we moved to Brighton, and got our own kitten. He is called Murray (after that guy, you know, off Flight of the Concords?) and he is fairly cool but doesn’t like to sit on laps very much, which is a shame. AS I TYPE, there is a cat toilet training system on its way in the post, so I’m fairly certain many of my posts for the next few months will be about cat poo on the bathroom floor.

Which leads me on nicely to… I can’t clean up cat poo off the bathroom floor! Because I am pregnant! I’m a little over half way there at the moment but by the time I bother to change this page, I will most probably have birthed an infant. So, cat poo & babies, will be fairly prevalent on this blog. Just so you know.

That’s almost it! I enjoy reading, moaning, gestating, watching telly, and visiting spas (oh yes – a happy coincidence! My employer also publishes spa information, so I get to review them every now and then. I LOVE my job.) I have recently ventured into yoga but am not sure I can take it seriously. I probably like other things too but can’t remember what they are.
